I hadn't appreciated how much damage copper tape can do to your knuckles. I was more worried about the stanley blade without a holder.

Children, please do not use Stanley blades naked at home.  Don't wear tinfoil on your head*.  Don't wear copper foil on your knuckles.

End of year report: Could have finished it by now :scratch_one-s_head:.

But I haven't and I won't. In trying to get the pickups to work I've made a mess of the loom @KiOgon made for me so I'm having to find some bits of wire.

However, it is all together and there's no technical reason the strings can't go on, except it doesn't feel right.

What's up :(

Putting strings on when it's not finished. Doesn't feel quite right somehow 🙂

Hey Si, whatever has happened to the loom - if you send it back to me I'll sort it no problem, no charge 👍

Black knurled Tele style. I don't really like chicken heads or skirted ones. The ones which are like a skirted one with the numbers but the skirt is inside the cylinder are quite nice, but still not really my taste.

Looks terrible with that huge hole where a pickup should be, and those horrible plugs where knobs should be. Still, you like it, so that's all that matters.

Broken a screw off in the face of the headstock fitting a string bar. There's a little stump poking out, any suggestions on how to get it out?

Drill a small hole through the centre and carefully glue an even smaller allen key in there, then when the glue has set simply unscrew it.

It'll cost you an allen key, but it'll stop you needing to resort to more drastic measures.

Next time I'd drill a slightly deeper pilot hole for the screw - small screws like this don't tend to be high grade steel, and they shear off when too much torque is applied.

Can you file flats and use  pliers on it

Not enough stub I'm afraid Stubz

I have a feeling that the hole was a bit small. As to gluing an allen key in to it, it will be so small it would bend before it turned I think, the screw is only about 3.5mm including thread.

Perhaps repeated heating with a soldering iron would help to loosen it...?  Let it cool fully before applying heat again.

I'm leaning towards very carefully filing the stump off flush, filling and spritzing it with a splash of black and laquer and seeing if it will not look too lairy against the existing finish.  Then putting the string bar at a jaunty angle and pretending it was supposed to be like that.

If you are willing to spend that much effort then it would be worth drilling oversize and plugging.  You wouldn't then have the metal to "worry" the finishing process.

Disguising your intentions by only using the first letter of her christian name wont help you.  You are clearly channeling Anthea Turner again.

Sorry I'm a bit late to the party.           ABSOLUTELY this   ^^^^    Very unlikely not to work.  Get the screw stub nice and hot then, as @SpondonBassed says, let it cool and then it should come out pretty easily with just a pair of needle-nosed pliers
