Frank Blank Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 (edited) I still have no idea what wood those blocks were, it is so pleasing to see them used like this rather than just gathering dust as a plinth for a Buddah! Edited June 28, 2021 by Frank Blank Quote

PlungerModerno Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 That's one of those "looks good at a distance and then just looks better as you get closer to it". Very nicely finished, doing that lovely wood justice. Quote
Velarian Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 I’ve always loved how Telecaster guitars look and this captures the look perfectly. Really beautiful. How did the pickup turn out? Quote
petecarlton Posted October 21, 2021 Posted October 21, 2021 What a wonderful job, Jez. Sorry, I've only just caught up with the thread - stunning work! Quote
derreybass Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 Looks really good Jez well done. Did you get the pickup sorted alright? Quote

I’ve never won the lottery, but I still feel like I’m the luckiest man on the planet !!!!! Having had some time to bond with the Tele, I will post up a NBD thread soon and talk about the pickup and switching options. 1 Quote
Rich Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 The wood looks a whole lot better as that neck than it did as my stair-rail Quote
Frank Blank Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 @Jabba_the_gut I discovered yesterday that the blocks of wood I gave you were Iroko wood which is the same wood that school science tables were made from. Quote
ped Posted December 17, 2022 Posted December 17, 2022 Don't know how I've only just seen this but WHAT that's amazing, one of those basses you can almost feel you can play through the screen! Will go back now and read through the entire thread as I'm interested in the pickup 2 Quote

Cheers Frank. Interesting - I have seen old science work tops for sale and wondered if they would be any use!! I used the larger piece you gave me, cut it in two and glued in a new block in to make the correct width up. The piece I found was a near perfect match colour wise - so lucky!! Nice wood to work with though pretty heavy. Cheers 1 Quote
