@Andyjr1515 @BassToolI bought some decals from these guys and you guys were right - very pleased with them. This bass was finished a few weeks ago -here's the final photos. Time to finish the next project!!

@Jabba_the_gut I discovered yesterday that the blocks of wood I gave you were Iroko wood which is the same wood that school science tables were made from.

Don't know how I've only just seen this but WHAT that's amazing, one of those basses you can almost feel you can play through the screen! Will go back now and read through the entire thread as I'm interested in the pickup

Cheers Frank. Interesting - I have seen old science work tops for sale and wondered if they would be any use!!

 

I used the larger piece you gave me, cut it in two and glued in a new block in to make the correct width up. The piece I found was a near perfect match colour wise - so lucky!! Nice wood to work with though pretty heavy.
