bumnote Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 I recently got a very early G&L 2000 with the chrome plate on the front and a conventional head stock. When I got it, the battery was badly corroded so i bought a a new pp3 connector and soldered it on. When I use the bass it sounds great but I get an intermittent problem where the bass sounds as if its going through a tremolo unit with a fast volume up and down. Anyone got any suggestions? Quote
mrcrow Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 your battery connection if good shouldnt fluctuate the vibrato thing i think must be related to the preamp....corrosion may have occurred in more than one spot Quote
nig Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 Hi Is it a 2000e on the headstock, the early front loaders are pretty much the same as the latter ones, is it ok in passive mode ? Ive got a few spares and a spare chip as that may be faulty. Quote
