Jazz bass tone pot dodginess

Hi all, just replaced the vol pot on the bridge pickup and now both it and the tone control acts as volumes. The tone works fine with the neck pup but using it on the bridge pup changes the volume roll off to something so severe its almost silent at '8' (10 full vol).

Any ideas?

Any chance of some photos of the wiring, that might reveal something.

It looks like its supposed too as far as I can see.

is the new pot exactly the same as the original, it's the only thing that's been changed so I'd suspect that, why did it need to be replaced ? Just because it's new doesn't mean that it's not faulty, and if it is preloved then even more reason to suspect it

It would be so much easier if you just posted a photo clearly showing the current state of the wiring.
