robthehoople
Afternoon, new here. Recently I acquired a vintage bass (Teisco EB - 18 1964/65) and yesterday got to work on restoring it. Today I bought some strings to check out the sound and electrics but nothing came out! Any advice will be greatly appreciated. It appears to be a humbucker pickup and I'm reluctant to replace it as apparently they're pretty fat sounding.
Acebassmusic
Did it work before you stripped it? Some close up photos of the wiring etc may help. Edited May 24, 2020 by Acebassmusic

Woodinblack
Agreed on the pics, although first things to do, connect the pickup direct to a jack lead and see if anything is coming out at all, as if it isn't, no amount of wiring is going to help
prowla
I've got a Teisco guitar and its pickup is duff. Pending repair, I've put in a Strat one; I had to make a conversion surround to fit it. Despite being awful plywood toot, the guitar sounds rather good!
