Nicksb1000 Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 hey, i just bought an 80's aria sb1000 and im thinking about upgrading the pickup. thinking about an emg mmcs. Dont really know anything about pickups as ive always just used the stok pikups in the past. Any ideas? I play mostly metal, with a pick through a Galien Kruger rb1001. Should i mabey be thinking about changing the pre amp aswell? Cheers Quote
Buzz Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Why do you want to upgrade? Is the current not beefy enough, or not putting out the sound you want? Bearing in mind strings make a huge difference to sound as well, so don't discount playing with them first. Quote
Nicksb1000 Posted March 10, 2009 Author Posted March 10, 2009 Yeah, the bass is wicked, but it just doesnt sound as beefy as my warwick. the sound i go for that has loads of attack and a defined bass. Similar to lamb of gods new album. I use rotosound strings 50 70 90 110. Quote
