Not sure about the front pickup position...
Telebass
Based on the Albert Lee guitar body shape...non-starter for me, I'm afraid. But then, you all knew that, didn't you?
BigRedX
IMO that's the most interesting MM bass so far... Might need to try one of those out when their actual in the shops.
ped
Cool looking bass. The front pickup does look a bit close to the neck for me, but I would have to try one to know for sure. A nice change from the norm. ped
Dubs
It looks like a bad throw-back to the dark period of 80s guitar design...
Kiwi
I wonder what all those knobs do? EDIT: I've worked it out. Some of them run the country.
thisnameistaken
I have a question: Are they selling any Bongos, and if so, who's buying them? And if not, are they just trying to blow money on R&D rather than give it to the tax man?

josh3184
wow, I am so disappointed in that!
BigRedX
Err... Which is the front pickup? IMO they're all on the front - if they were on the back they'd be sticking into your gut/groin depending on how you wear the bass and probably not much use for picking up the string vibration. ped
I thought 'Front' (neck pickup) and 'back' (bridge pickup) were generally accepted terms :0)
OutToPlayJazz
Looks like it has the same electronics package as the 25th Anniversary model which is a real looker... I'd really like to try one of these.

leonshelley01
I'm struggling to picture an uglier bass, although some of the Deans come close.

I wouldn't mind a (real) passive 1-pu Stingray - that would be the only MM I'd buy, although I did try a Bongo once (yep, me!) and although I'd never buy one, it wasn't too bad... niceguyhomer
I quite like it but think it'd look better in a bright colour like toxic waste green or syphilis yellow ...and yeh...where's my royalties, I've been known as Big Al since my first nappy change
ped
Just realised that my pickup naming thing comes form my vbass. Neck pickup is referred to as the 'Front' pickup and the bridge as the 'back' pickup.

synaesthesia
Really? If I'd guessed I'd have gone for the other way round. That's why I prefer bridge/middle/neck terminology no ambiguity.
It is really quite common to describe the 'neck' pickup at 'front' and the 'bridge' pickup as 'back' pickup. It's common speak in the US amongst the older crowd, even Jaco spoke like that: http://www.jacopastorius.com/features/inte...ws/portrait.asp The proximity of the pickup closest to the fingerboard will annoy the slappers who aren't used to having a pickup there; few top shelf basses survive commercially with a pickup there, - the original PRS did not, but RICs continue to do so. They are great for getting the deep tonalties that reggae players like.
