Sk1 Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Hey I was thinking about getting a fender jazz bass but saw a really nice looking Bacchus jazz bass, I'm not too familiar with them. Any thoughts, comparisons??? Quote
Eldon Tyrell Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 There was a thread on Bacchus basses earlier this month. They look pretty tempting. Must resist 😎 Quote
BassApprentice Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Probably less so now and everything is so standardised by CNC machines but there will be higher quality materials etc used between series hence the price difference. Quote
Doctor J Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 The older Japanese ones were all hand made. I am unfamiliar with the different series they have now but anything Japanese pre-2012 or so will never have seen a CNC machine. Quote
CameronJ Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 Played a couple of Bacchus basses in the past and they were excellent. Great feel and tone. @thebassgallery usually have a few in stock if you fancy trying one out in person. Quote
Mike Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Late to the party, but I have a Woodline Handmade 5 and it's absolutely superbly made. I had a Sadowsky preamp put in and it's stunning. Quote
BassBunny Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 I've just done a review of a WL534 I picked up recently. Quote
BlueMoon Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 For those who may be interested, Mark at BassDirect has this just in: https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Bacchus_DX4-AC,_Blue.html (Note: I am not affiliated with BassDirect and don't know details of the part ex.). Quote
Marty Forrer Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 I have a WL534 Global active in Olympic white winging it's way from Japan, or maybe chugging on a very slow freighter. The clear pickguard will be replaced with a pearloid black one, and I have in my spares bin a set of Hipshot Ultralite tuners and if needed, an Audere 3 band pre. A few years ago I had a Bacchus HJB-5, and it was amazing. I had to sell it to fund an emergency so I'm real happy to have another Bacchus in my sights. 1 Quote

I've got some carbon wrap that I got to wrap a mountain bike. I might pinch a bit to wrap the pickguard on mine. I can never make my mind up about the clear ones Bacchus fit. 1 Quote
ped Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 Someone buy this - great price and these TwentyFour models are brilliant! https://www.zikinf.com/annonces/annonce-1851886 2 Quote
BlueMoon Posted September 4, 2020 Posted September 4, 2020 I tried my best to share the love for, and put the word out, about the Bacchus Craft Series WL-4 DX in blue available at BassDirect UK. It was my way of fending off the unbearable GAS that I was having, hoping it would be gone the next time I checked. Nobody was up for it.........so it came home to me! A quick switch to Sadowsky knobs (with a line marker) and a set up and I'd say it's the mutt's nuts. 1 Quote
