As the title says.

Does anyone have a Status Guy Pratt signature bass?

I'd imagine Guy Pratt probably does.

There's been a lot of sliding pickup things over the years but that really does demonstrate how pickup position really is the key

Guy: "I like the hole, makes it look like someone's knocked it up in a shed or something..."

Warwick: "That'll be £3,500 please"

Nobody: "Fantastic, I'll have two..."

😁

Great idea, though - I can never understand all the hoohah about tonewoods, when this is soooo much more influential on sound...

I built something very similar to this for my final year degree project , as a test bed for different positions and types of pickups. I think I even included a reference image of this bass as a reference image and quoted Guy's discussion on the reasoning for the mobile pickups.

Sounds good or is that Guy’s playing? When a Gibson made a sliding pickup bass it also had a sliding cover over the hole which would look a lot better and stop the hole filling up with dust, fluff and and all sorts of other detritus.

I like the body shape and the sunburst.
