Peter Popovic
I’ve bought this bass for 60£ longtime ago. Stagg JB. To be honest, not so good. So I’ve decided to convert it to fretless one. It was my first project (still not finished yet😂). Basically I was learning on it with no tools. Anyway...some pics. p. s. I’m not sure about pickguard. Shape, colour. Maybe someone can suggest something different?
Simon.
I really like the concept of the pickguard, but I'm not sure it works with the natural finish on the body. An (aged) Olympic White on the body might work well? Nice work on the neck. 👍
Peter Popovic
I was thinking red pickguard (high gloss) maybe with visible wood grain as it is? The body is basically finished, don’t wanna change it anymore(but I probably will at some point) Thanks.
Andyjr1515
Nice job on the fretboard! I like the shape of the scratchplate and I think the grain looks good on it. The colour change of the body from the outside shots to the later shots - is that just camera/light foibles or have you used a coloured stain/finish? It looks so different (from reddish brown to yellow-ish) it threw me a bit...
Peter Popovic
Thanks again, freatboard turned out really 👍. Body colour changed a little bit when I’ve left it to dry for 2 weeks. But not much. It’s sunny light vs inside light etc...didn’t use coloured stain or finish.
Peter Popovic
Finally done...small things still needs to be done (nut needs to be lowered etc...) but generally it’s finished 🙂 at some point I’ll refinish her, don’t know if I like colour. But for now I’m quite happy.
