Had a Fender MM for years.

Loved it. Gigged it, played it daily for about 6/7 years.

My ex put us in a position and I had to sell pretty much everything to get us out of it.

I missed that sound - but still, years later hadn’t bought another - I wanted my original one, but the lovely guy who I’d sold it to (Nick) had lost track of who he’d sold it to.

I set out to find another - and found 2.

I was in a position to buy both.

Now, if you were on basschat 10 years ago - I actually ran a poll on what finish I should have put on my original MM as it was a bit battle scarred.

Anyhow - I’ve decided on my colour and I will reveal more later.

The natural one is rough, light and plays well - but the body has multiple dinks and inexplicably a sanded area on the back of the top horn.

So my plan from 2009/10 is about to come into play.

Tonight was disassembly.

Looks like my man has a window to do my work.

the process will take 6-8 weeks.

I bet it will look great in pink.

Seriously though, I'm looking forward to pics of the finished result.

Did debate burgundy mist.

The 6-8 week process - is that for the finish on the bass, or you to be finished with the bass and sell it on for another?!

Finish on the bass.

Between painting fences, posting some parts I’d sold on here and keeping the kids busy...

I’ve only just had the hour to do the prep before sending to Dave.

There’s an area on the top horn which has been sanded already - and a number of dinks which will require some of Mr Wilson’s Magic.

But I’ve made him aware.

Tell you what, I enjoyed that.

Body has arrived with Dave Wilson, as suspected...the dinks and knocks in the body means he may have to sand further than the sealer coat - they’re not massive holes or anything, but would be disruptive to a metallic paint job.

Looks like I’ve found the pickups to match my sadowsky pre...

I was stuck between the Aguilar 70’s and the Nordstrand 70’s.

Looks like @Normski saved them for such an occasion 😉
