Audacity users - help please!

I’ve somehow changed settings on Audacity, and now, when recording, I can hear myself playing, but with a slight delay.  It’s OK for the first track, I just turn the speaker down.  But if I do that for subsequent tracks, I’ve nothing to sync with!

Can anyone tell me how to remove the volume on the track I’m recording, please, but keep the playback on previous tracks?

if I'm understanding you correctly you've got a latency issue, you can adjust it in preferences - devices, it's touched on in this thread

Phew, it turned out to be in the transport options, but if it was in sync, it would be good to hear what I’m recording.  Perhaps I’ll explore that too in due course.
