ClassicVibes
I'm looking at upgrading the control plate for my Jazz but want to keep the original pickups. If I use a solderless control plate, how would the existing (wired) pickups attach to the plate?
Reggaebass
Hi CV, I fitted a solderless stack knob control plate to my jazz, and I just cut the wires off the old one and used the screw terminals on the new one 🙂

Ah, okay. What about the bridge grounding wire?
KiOgon
Have a look at my kits, all with screw terminals for your pick ups, bridge earth and any screening wires.

ClassicVibes
Cheers guys. 3 terminals for the neck pup, bridge pup and ground wire seems like an easy job for a novice like me!
Delberthot
I got mine from Six String Supplies. It's incredibly well made https://www.sixstringsupplies.co.uk/product/solderless-jazz-bass-harness

Do the pot shafts take push on or grub screw knobs?

CTS full size pots come in either 6mm splined or 1/4" round shafts. The Bourns pots are 6mm splined only.

KiOgon
Not all 'grub screw knobs' fit 1/4" shafts, the internal measurement needs to be 1/4" 😄 some are for 6mm shafts.

They take the grub screw type of knobs - they're designed as direct replacement for US basses
