Hey guys,

Part of my Corona Virus-no work for months and have equipment I need to sell is:

My 1989 Korean Samick factory Squier jazz with Bart preamp and pickups! The same tech (who's name escapes me now but I remember his first name is Duncan and workes out of his workshop in Earls Barton, Northants) fitted a battery compartment on the back which, as with his work, is a professional job as you'll see in the pictures.

So this bass came to me by a local tech who was selling it on behalf of a friend 6 years ago. I then sold it 4 years ago to a friend then bought it back a couple of months ago!

The pictures tell all really, it's a great bass and set up and sounds awesome!

The preamp is a Bartolini TBT 2 band preamp.

I'm not sure of the pickup models but they are bartolini as shown in the pictures.

"Licensed by Schaller" tuners which are smooth and work fantastically.

Single ply black pickguard

Graphtech nut.

Rosewood board.

Straight and lovely maple neck .

Looks very nice! Tuners look to be schallers not hipshot, both quality thou. It's the main toggle an active/passive switch? And what's the control layout? Vol/treb/bass or something?

Cheers

The necks on this vintage of Squire are fantastic. I have built a whole new bass around one, they are so spot on.

It's a pickup switch between them, so it's always active.

That switch, is it each and both? Dumb question I know 😬

Duncan Marlowe of Phoenix Soundworks,  Earls Barton.

I used to live in Norty Hampton, and spent a few quids with Duncan.  Great bloke

I’m confused:

You said:

It's a pickup switch between them, so it's always active.

Then you said: That’s an active passive switch

So what is it?

I’ve double checked the wiring and it’s an active

passive switch

Now I'm more confused 😂

3 non stacked knobs and two band EQ

How do you select pickups?

I think a rubber/copper shield moveable between would do it.

Unless it's got a blend pot

Or unless it has a single tone knob, like the Thunder 1A. I doubt that though...

I am genuinely quite interested in this, but would like clarification on the control layout please.

So it’s Volume Treble Bass with a mini 3 way switch for pickup selection.
