Hi all, what’s the best P bass for under £1k, American AVRI? does the 62 AVRI have a shallow neck?had a nice CIJ reissue I shouldn’t of let go😕

Do they have to look like a P? If you can get a secondhand BBP, I think those are pretty tough to beat.

One option, don’t spend your money on something designed in the fifties and buy something a little more 21st century. There was a time when we bassists were considered progressive and guitarists were mocked for sticking to strats!  When did we become regressive?

I’d say the best Precisions under a grand are the US Standard 2012-16 range, however they have a chunker of a neck in them so not good for everyone.
