Hi! Does anyone know where to find strat like knobs for a mexican jazz bass?

As i've seen regular guitar ones don't fit.

Thanks!!

You've run into 'that' problem ....

Guitars produced in the USA and Mexico use imperial sizes and pretty much the rest of the world uses metric. So we end up with shafts on the pots with two different diameters and number of splines.

As you seem to have found, the vast majority of guitars sold in europe come from Asia and so most of the aftermarket parts are metric.

If you have an authorised Fender dealer locally, they should be able to supply the correct knobs. The other option would be to Google, Strat USA knobs, hopefully that will bring up a Spanish supplier for you.

There quite a few on ebay UK. Not sure about ebay Spain but worth running a search for 'Stratocaster knob imperial'.

Why not just wind some PTFE tape around the shaft ?

Mex pot shafts are slightly too big for a typical metric knob (not too small).

I put strat knobs on one of my jazzes, and the knobs were too small for the shaft, so I enlarged the hole with a drill bit and put an Allen key screw in to grip the smooth shaft

That’s a great solution , I did that to one of my P basses  once, it works perfect 👍

If you put a thin wind of ptfe on the shaft, drilled out the knob and then put a dot of silicon in it, it would conform, grip and also be removable

So, i've found them as Imperial sized knobs, to make them fit inna solid shaft pot what should I do?
