What is the best way to fill a very small screw hole, so it will hold the screw, in a hollow body guitar?

Is that for the strap button?

Plastic wood filler, from any DIY store

Cocktail stick glued with Titebond and excess stick cut off once dry.

It is not the strap button.  It is a small screw on the plate that the volume & tone controls are on.  I am going to go with the cocktail stick or something similar.  Thank you.
