Could you rock the Sire without a pickguard, as in is the routing round the neck pickup neat enough to get away with it? I had a 1st generation Sire 5 and you definitely could have it 'naked' Quote

Mike Brooks Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Well it took a bit longer than 'a few days'.....trying to run a YouTube channel on your own is a job in itself...! Anyway, I finally got this review out there....there will be some future 'Soundbite' demos as well along the way so keep checking the channel for extra videos. I hope you enjoy this, they really are fab basses for the money. 4 Quote
Andermtc Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 Thanks for the review. Is anyone else waiting for a Betsy to be delivered? Ive been waiting a while for mine, since early August,, apparently there are none of the correct EMG’s available currently to allow them to complete the builds.. Quote
Andermtc Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 After a long delay I've finally got my Betsy. Ordered back in July and planned for delivery in August it got delayed due to a lack of EMG pickups. Noticed one difference to the original posters in that mine has a plain chrome plate on the back rather than the Bass Centre logo. 3 Quote

fretmeister Posted November 10, 2020 Posted November 10, 2020 I love the original EMG J pickups. I put a set in my Sandberg. Great J tone and completely hum free. Quote
horrorshowbass Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 This or the Sire? That is the question..... Quote
BassApprentice Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 Well, here's the answer. There is almost new Betsy in the sales forum and the Sire is sold out everywhere for the foreseeable 😅 Thomann say they have the Sire available at short notice but almost every other sire is 6 weeks minimum. Quote

One left in andetons and also in stock thomann Ireland. Not my first rodeo. Like the emgs though. Quote
Mister RLP Posted April 15, 2021 Author Posted April 15, 2021 I like the EMGs in my Betsy so much I did think about a a set for my Fender Flea Jazz bass, too. Good idea or not? Quote

Why not? It’s completely reversible. It’d be interesting to see if the Flea is markedly different from the Betsy once the EMGs are in. Quote

BassApprentice Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 Don't see why not, it's just a different layout of the same controls Quote
