Thanks for that @Mudpup

I'm coming round to pink/purple basses so one of these could be on the list.

Could you rock the Sire without a pickguard, as in is the routing round the neck pickup neat enough to get away with it?

I had a 1st generation Sire 5 and you definitely could have it 'naked'

Well it took a bit longer than 'a few days'.....trying to run a YouTube channel on your own is a job in itself...!

Anyway, I finally got this review out there....there will be some future 'Soundbite' demos as well along the way so keep checking the channel for extra videos. I hope you enjoy this, they really are fab basses for the money.

After a long delay I've finally got my Betsy.

Ordered back in July and planned for delivery in August it got delayed due to a lack of EMG pickups.

Noticed one difference to the original posters in that mine has a plain chrome plate on the back rather than the Bass Centre logo.

A Betsy and an Ashdown rig, very Guy Pratt.

Well, here's the answer. There is almost new Betsy in the sales forum and the Sire is sold out everywhere for the foreseeable 😅

Thomann say they have the Sire available at short notice but almost every other sire is 6 weeks minimum.

One left in andetons and also in stock thomann Ireland. Not my first rodeo. Like the emgs though.

I like the EMGs in my Betsy so much I did think about a a set for my Fender Flea Jazz bass, too. Good idea or not?

Why not? It’s completely reversible. It’d be interesting to see if the Flea is markedly different from the Betsy once the EMGs are in.

Good point. Question - would the EMGs be compatible with the stack knob controls?
