At £199 I think they will sell a ton of these, to players who already like short scale basses and people who are curious without spending a lot to see if they like them..

It's the colour choices that will do well for them.

Squier also do good value short scales, but if far fewer colours. Give people a good choice at a great price.

Well, couldn't resist this in Burgundy Mist so just ordered one from Thomann.  Can't wait to find out exactly what you get for your £199. Could be just the right tool for some of the rougher venues we play in 🙂

Taking one for the shorty team there, good work. Looking forward to your review already.

Ha-ha!  We're such a specialist (exclusive?) group of forum members that it's even more important for us to share info. The stuff I've learned from others on this topic has been priceless.

Looking forward to the review and how much it weighs...

Allegedly 3.5kg but I'm a bit sceptical about the weights Thomann quote when asked. In my experience, their answer is always in full or half kilos. The accuracy of their (alleged) scales seems to be +/- 1lb 🤔

I already have far too many basses.  Putting that statement there as a marker.

Following with interest re actual weight and how the controls work.  Y'know.  Just out of interest.

I always say that 🤣. Also try to stick to a one in, one out rule. Succumbing to GAS means that I have to sell something I would rather hold onto and then I regret the sale, get fed up with the bass that replaced it, and start the whole cycle again.

Just received shipping confirmation as follows:

        "022/12/02 08:10 am

Dispatched: The goods have left our warehouse and are on their way to the border."

WTF?! Aaaaah yes, I forgot: Germany's still in the EU and there's a 'hard' border between us and Europe now!

"As soon as the package cleared customs and arrived at UK Mail, you can track your parcel directly on the shipping carrier's website. Please be patient, as this may take around 3-4 working days."

WTF - 3-4 working days in limbo before Royal Mail even get the chance to go and lose it?

Another fine example of the benefits of Brexit. I'm eternally grateful to the people who told us: "Let's get it done!" 🤐

If my experience recently is anything to go by, 3-4 working days is optimistic. At least Thomann sorts everything for you. You are not suddenly going to get another bill for customs duty. You need patience ordering from Thomann these days! Deep joy!

As soon as it says it’s in the depot after clearing customs, ring Parcelforce and pay the duty over the phone. If you wait for the letter it’ll be about three days until it arrives (if Royal Fail aren’t on strike)

Thomann sort that, or at least they did when I bought a bass from them in January. I didn’t have anything extra to pay but I did have to be patient.

I've had a couple of orders from Thomann this year and they have arrived in around 4 or 5 days after placing the order, I never had any additional fuss or hoops to jump through, so finger crossed you'll have the bass early next week 👍
