mhuk
Nothing esoteric but here is my humble "collection". Click the thumbnails for fullsize images. 1. 1978 Fender Precision I've had this since about 1990 and is totally standard. May also fit a chrome bridge cover. 3. Musicman Sub Recently acquired. Has an SD Basslines pickup and I added the new pickguard. mhuk
4. Bach Custom Fretless Started off as a regular Bach but I wanted a fretless so rather than sell it and buy a fretless I customised it. I removed the frets, glued in some ebony veneer strips but didn't like the finish so I added a length of ebony veneer. Two coats of shellac and a finishing sand with baby oil/ 2000 grade paper. Tru Bass strings. It now goes mwah, mwah, mwahhhh (only finished this morning so only had a quick play). I think I may need to upgrade the tuners as they're a bit feeble. Edited August 15, 2007 by mhuk
setekh
lovely collection especially like that 62 reissue what about the Bach..is it as good as people say?
mhuk
The Bach is a budget bass but I can't compare it to other budget basses as I've never played any. I far prefer it as a fretless but I think the tuners are too puny for the Tru Bass strings (115-65) and I haven't had a chance to put it through it's paces yet. beerdragon
How are you finding the neck on the jazz compared to the pbass mhuk?
mhuk
I like the neck- I've got small hands so it seems a bit easier to play than the precision.
