Given that community centres etc can re-open from July 4th, at least that gives a firm idea of when rehearsals can re-commence. Its just up to the rehearsal venues to confirm.

official advice is that rehearsals are now OK. I'm involved with a rehearsal studio. We double checked with Trading Standards who were telling us to stay closed, and they confirmed on Friday that we're now OK to open

Out of interest, what steps are you taking to clean the rooms between bands??

We've not actually opened yet as we're not ready. We're meeting tonight to nail down the formal plan. It's not going to be simple!

Bands should be required to bring their own mics for starters....

How many bands have a singer that actually has their own mic?

It blow my mind how I’ll equipped most singers are.

I'm thinking we say "bring your own mic, if you don't have one you can buy one of ours"

And xlr. They are bound to spit on that too.

yeh but we can wipe them down. It's the baskets/foam on the mic, I doubt there's a practical way to adequately sanitise them

If you had enough mics, quarantining them for 72hrs would do the trick.

Singers swagger in to the venue, get on stage, say 'Test, test', walk off and head straight for the bar. Then usually try to chat up your girlfriend...

Yep. Who knows where a mic has been.

I’m not sure, even if they were allowed, and if I was in a gigging band, that I’d be interested in playing a gig on 04 Jul, or Barmaggedon as it’s becoming known.

I always do anyway. The concept of cleaning mikes seems entirely alien to most rehearsal studios round here.

Behringer XM8500, not exactly going to break the bank is it.

^ ^ ^ Hemel is the only place that I ever had a police escort out of after a gig ........

😎

It’s the only way to get out, that’s why I’m still here......

Is that certain?

It's an average for some types of surfaces.

Some of the cruise ships still had live virus on surfaces 2 weeks after they had been evacuated.

I wouldn't rely on that.

It's what clothing shops have to do with clothes that have been tried on. Same with Charity Shop donations, 72 hrs in quarentine before they can go on sale.
