danbanbass Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 So I’ve seen Sadowsky are releasing and what I call their attempt at a Lakland Skyline range, has anyone managed to play one or even buy one? They look interesting and something that’d be up my street, granted the headstock logo is a little to be desired but I have heard this is due to a trademark issue that Roger is currently fighting to get back. What do you guys think? Quote

What do you guys think? They have a good range of left handed basses out there but need to know more as it's a crowded field for jazz and P basses below 1000 quid. While I want a PJ on a J body which isn't so easy to get hold of I'm reluctant to pre order before knowing more about them Quote

I’m keeping an eye for on Thomanns stockist dates then do a google search to see if anyone has bought one before I pull the trigger. Quote
therealting Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 Roger has said that due to Covid we’re not expecting these to ship for a while. 1 Quote
BassAgent Posted June 24, 2020 Posted June 24, 2020 Still very, very curious about these basses. 1 Quote

danbanbass Posted June 24, 2020 Author Posted June 24, 2020 I am tempted to say bugger it and buy a used Warwick instead 😂 1 Quote
thedontcarebear Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 (edited) On google it says these are MIJ, is that right? As they seem good value for less than £800! EDIT - ignore this, managed to zoom into the back of a headstock and saw they are made in China. Edited November 15, 2020 by thedontcarebear 1 Quote
ezbass Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 The old Metro Express were MIJ, but these new, Warwick Expresses are MIC. Quote
CameronJ Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 Am I the only one who isn’t a fan of the new logo on the headstocks? 2 Quote

CameronJ Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 True, there was quite a lot of fret buzz going on there. I like a bit of rasp but at times it was a bit beyond what I would call tasteful! 1 Quote

Sibob Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 (edited) From what I understand, it’s an interim/pre-production logo. There were/are some issues with the Sadowsky name/logo being registered by another party in China specifically, so they aren’t able to use it, something like that. Unless that’s changed. Nebadon2000 Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 (edited) Maybe if they put 'Sadowsky' were Metroexpress is now and Logo on Back of headstock? Edited November 20, 2020 by Nebadon2000 spelling Quote
LeftyJ Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 (edited) For a minute I thought that would explain why I've been seeing Sadowsky basses with a "Roger" decal on the front of the headstock, but then I looked it up and it turned out to be made in 2009. Whats this then? https://reverb.com/item/36602301-roger-sc-5-left-handed-sc-5-jazz-bass-2009-white-wash-northern-ash-body Edit: sorry for the hi-jack! Edited November 19, 2020 by LeftyJ Quote
afterimage Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 Was ordering one of these but waited to long for them ended up with a Fender Quote

Nothing to do with Sadowsky from what I can quickly ascertain from Google, 'Roger' basses appear to be "...guitars & basses were made in Germany by Wenzel Rossmeisl, who named his instrument line after his son Roger..."
