scalpy
http://glguitars.com/product/tribute-series-fallout-shortscale-bass/ Lets await the pricing after the much discussed American model. There's a nice video of Tim Lefebvre demo'ing one on FB too but I'll be dammed if I can work out how to post the link.
ClassicVibes
Nice move by G&L. There seems to be a gap in the market for short scale basses between £400-£800. The two things I didn't like about the original were the weight and the paint jobs. These new Tributes seem to rectify that. Good range of solid colours to choose from and the body is made from basswood instead of alder so that should help rectify the weight problem. Strung with La Bella nickels is also a nice touch. mr4stringz
YES! Very, very interested in one of these.
BassApprentice
And there's me thinking, I'm happy with my 4 string basses just now. Oh how naïve 😅 EDIT: A very solid colour selection which is nice to see! Edited June 27, 2020 by BassApprentice
scalpy
I'd have two, the black one and white one, one flats one rounds, and swop the pick guards!
JohnDaBass
Now that is very interesting. Classic bridge & Pup, seems to deliver some lovely tones in the vid. Flats with maple neck & fret board for me.
Cato
I have no need or real use for a shortscale bass. But I'd still take one of these in seafoam green.
Jean-Luc Pickguard
I'd get a Candy Apple Red one with maple fingerboard if I could get permission to buy another bass. Then again its easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. 1
Pea Turgh
Nice. Black/black/maple would be really nice though!

ClassicVibes
Any idea of release dates on these?
bloke_zero
They look great - though I did like the stripes on the US models
Grahambythesea
Kind of Mustang meets Stingray. Perhaps rename Stingstang. 😄
ClassicVibes
$599 on Sweetwater. £500 in the UK? https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/FalloutSSJB--g-and-l-tribute-fallout-short-scale-bass-guitar-jet-black
BassApprentice
That would be about right looking at the price bracket of the other Tribute models. Unfortunately I fear it will be £599 as a lot of brands now do that for new releases....but to be fair it would be right up against the short scale Stingray. CameronJ
https://www.andertons.co.uk/g-l-tribute-fallout-short-scale-bass-candy-apple-red Listed at £499 @ Andertons. Not in stock yet though.
BassApprentice
At the expensive end of the Tribute range but still will probably be a very good bass for the money. Looking forward to trying one!

CameronJ
Also, this is very obviously a custom model, but...

taosword
Been watching the weights of the G&L tribute fallout basses here in the US on Sweetwater's site. Almost all weigh over 9 lbs. which is as much as my US made G&L L2000 with 2 pickups. Not sure where the Indonesians got their bass wood.
solo4652
Andertons are saying late November for delivery. Price has already gone up from £499 to £549, even though none has hit these shores yet... https://www.andertons.co.uk/g-l-tribute-fallout-short-scale-bass-candy-apple-red
Jonesy
Quite a lot of the G&L Tribute line has gone up in price at Andertons recently and there always seems to be a long wait for delivery of stock........ Bloomin supply and demand pushing up prices of new toys 🧐
bloke_zero
I think G&L are getting more well known the UK - a couple of years ago they didn't seem to have a lot of distribution here. It was like "George and who?"
