dave mac Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 Can anyone tell me are the new musicman stingray special made in the USA, the bass has a picture of some creature on the back of the headstock, and says American heritage ,not like the the other stingrays Obispo usa made Quote
pineweasel Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 They are made in San Luis Obispo, just as they have always been. There’s a dubious new law which says you can’t say something is made in the USA unless it’s 100% American sourced, and as EBMM probably get some small components from elsewhere they have chosen to play safe. American Fenders don’t say Made in USA anymore for the same reason. Quote

That's correct and the "creature" on the back of the headstock is the California Grizzly bear (as San Luis Obispo is located in Cal's central coast region). The bear is one of the most iconic symbols of the state and can be seen both on the state flag and seal. 1 Quote

ClassicVibes Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 In case anyone was wondering. Quite clearly a bear. It features on the state flag of California alongside the star. 2 Quote
