Beedster Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 Folks I need a switch to select between P and P PUPs. Smaller the better, as space is limited (which is why I'm not opting for a pan pot). I prefer solder free, not because my soldering is bad, but just because! There's loads for guitars but they all seem to be the big Les Paul type, I'd prefer something small and discrete that retains the essential 'Precision-ness' of the instrument! Cheers Chris Quote
Chiliwailer Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 (edited) Hey Chris, Not solderless, (or my areas of expertise) but an on/on/on DPDT might do it https://www.stewmac.com/electronics/components-and-parts/switches/mini-toggle-switches.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=2020-07-gp&pref_currency=P&shipcalc=UK&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIj7OR5YGx6gIVG-3tCh3ZpgUsEAQYAyABEgKgEvD_BwE Edited July 3, 2020 by Chiliwailer Quote
Chiliwailer Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 Also, how about a dual concentric with volume on top and pan below? Info from John East: I do have stacked vol/blend on a circuit board, I will post a pic. The shafts are 8mm & 6mm diameter. Blend is DUAL 250K M/N TAPER = both pickups max in centre click, Volume is 250K A (Log/Audio) The blend pot is configured differently to the normal cross-wired standard method so that the impedance is similar to two volumes, although it can be configured in the standard way by changing some jumpers. (The normal way of wiring passive vol/blend makes the impedance resistance lower, equivalent to 3 pots in parallel) Quote
Trueno Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 KiOgon does dual concentric knobs. I got a loom to convert my MIM Mustang from switchable pickups to VV(dual concentric)T. 1 Quote
KiOgon Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 (edited) @Beedster Yes can do a mini toggle with solderless terminals for you if that's what you're looking for? PM me 😎 Edit: Or a concentric mini pot? Edited July 4, 2020 by KiOgon Quote
Beedster Posted July 4, 2020 Author Posted July 4, 2020 Hi guys, especially Dan, thanks for your replies, why I didn’t got straight to John is beyond me. John, I’ll PM you mate. Cheers Chris Quote
