Has anyone found any tuners which are a good replacement for the Squier Classic Vibe 60's P Bass? This is for the newer sunburst/white models made in Indonesia, not the Chinese Crafted older Fiesta Red Models. Thinking along the lines of Schaller or Hipshot...

Hipshot HB7s aren't exactly the same screw holes as the Squier tuners, they look the same as the MIM tuners but they aren't, close but not close enough so you have to fill the holes with cocktail sticks and wood glue and then the HB7s fit fine once you predrill new holes, and the change is invisible, but if you want to revert to Squier tuners say when selling you'll have to do the same again

I bought a set of hipshot HB7s for my fretless neck. I’m actually quite disappointed with them. The action isn’t very smooth and one of them rattles. I wouldn’t buy them again.

Bit of a thread refresh this one, but did this ever get sorted, or does anyone know of some alternative replacement tuners for this bass, as I’ve got the same model and I’m looking to replace the stock tuners, preferably with a nickel finish.

I know Schaller BMLs are straight drop-ins for the Chinese CVs, though I'm not sure if the screw hole positions are different on the Indonesian ones.

Some Schaller BMF in the classifieds:

They look great thanks for the heads up but I'm not into the satin finish unfortunately.
