Nail Soup Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 Gary and Martin Kemp from Spandau Ballet have made a mockumentory. BB2 at 10pm tonight think. Made by the same guy who made the Brian Pern mocku. Might be worth a watch - I'm planning to anyway! We might even get a bass gag from or at Martin. 2 3 Quote
BreadBin Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 I heard Gary Kemp on 6music yesterday discussing this, it sounds really good 👍 1 Quote
Angel Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 They are a great couple of guys, and SB had some stellar hits. I also LOVE the fact that Gary Kemp is in Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets band. He really went up in my estimation of him with that! Quote

Never had him down as a major fan of Syd era Floyd! Quote
casapete Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Sadly for me, the programme was pretty lame. Rather obvious, unfunny and badly played IMHO, had to abandon it half way through. 😧 2 Quote
phil.c60 Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 I enjoyed it. "Drink up, before it goes cold...."😂 Quote
Nail Soup Posted July 6, 2020 Author Posted July 6, 2020 Not as good as I was hoping, a few funny bits scattered in there. Should have been 30 mins max IMO. The Brian Pern program from the same guy was a lot better. Quote
oldslapper Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 There were a couple of genuine laugh out loud moments for me (including the “mobile studio”). But overall the programme was probably longer than necessary. Quote

I was hoping for a clever dig at the Bros documentary but it was just a bit silly - too Chuckle Brothers for me. Quote
Shepster8316 Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 He's a bit of a rocker 🙂 I recall seeing a Gary Kemp programme not too long ago on Mick Ronson, as he was a massive fan. He was like a kid in a sweet shop when at the end he got to play Mick Ronson's sanded down Les Paul, which now lives with a collector. 2 Quote
toneknob Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Also starring Saucerful's (and some other bands) Guy Pratt. 1 Quote
Roger2611 Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 I really enjoyed it but agree with the comment above. probably not as good as the Brian Pern series Quote
vantagepointrocks Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 I watched it and thought it was pretty funny all the way through. Quote
