Oh, who could forget Stump.  Kev (@spoombung) is still a member on here:

Great song! But I'm wondering, fantastic wonk-out though it is, if it is really in a non-standard time signature.

I counted along and I made it 4 beats to the bar..... or am I missing something?

Trains is one of my favourite songs 😀

It's great- I've been learning both the acoustic and bass parts.

The other song i put forward was Luminol (well the first 4.5 mins of it) - I'm really into the bass lines though I can't decide on pick or fingers

Drummers choice was Lune by Periphery which keeps the guitarist happy due to excessive use of delay effect

Luminol is great (instrumentally anyway - I find the lyrics a bit cringe). It's as if SW was doing a Bond theme.

Steven Wilson is many things, but a good lyricist is not one of them

That's complicating it a bit. It's just in 9/8

Golden Brown, 13/4 - as is Turn It On Again

I'll go with Turn It On Again as being in 13/4, but I would say that Golden Brown is 3 bars of 3/4 and a bar of 4/4. It has that waltz type feel. The verses are all in 3, so it makes a bit more sense that way.

This hurts my head. 15/8?

Yeah, I tend to think of it as alternating 4/4 and 7/8, but 15/8 is probably neater. There's a couple of bars of 7/4 here and there if I remember correctly too.

They do the same thing the other way round in different people (the main riff) - alternating 7/8 and 4/4.

As much as I love vertigo/infinity land Biffy, I am very glad they're still peddling weird rock in stadiums and festival main stages.

Don't know if it's already been mentioned but Barracuda by Heart is a great song, think it switches between 4/4, 3/4, and 2/4.

We were going to do it in a band I used to be in, but the drummer couldn't get his head around the timing.
