Reggaebass
I was heavily into the hard house club scene in the 90s , and these were mixed in often

I loath and detest this tune way beyond reason. In truth it is a fine example of it's genre and does not deserve my loathing. Unfortunately it is the victim of a traumatic experience of mine, from back in 1989 when it was released. I went on a "works do" to York ,from Nottingham, along with my erstwhile colleagues from our Vauxhall dealership. Whilst on the over two hour charabanc trip, an upto then unassuming office girl ( she's actually a lovely lady and we are still friends), decided that this song was "THE BEST EVER!" She then proceeded (and I kid you not here...non of this next statement is of the "poetic licence" type) to play it back to back for the whole trip there and the whole trip back ...I still break out in a sweat and shiver when ever I hear it to this day..... As a consequence I will not be clicking on your provided link ...I am off now to lie down in a darkened room for a while . Please go back to enjoying your thread kind sir. OK you have just proven to me that @Bill Wy,Aye,Man was actually right with Groove is in the Heart for the same reason. My upstairs neighbour at the time bought the 12" version of this when it came out and proceeded to use it for her warm up before going out clubbing (every night except Monday). She would play it several times each night for a good few weeks, and yet somehow I still love it!

Delberthot
I've been a prodigy fan since high school - in fact I have The Fat of the Land on vinyl arriving this afternoon but as far as I am concerned, the best dance song ever written is this one by Giorgio Moroder Edited July 11, 2020 by Delberthot

Nail Soup
There are a few different definitions of what dance music means.... but for the purpose of this thread I'm going for the the genre that happened after disco in the Eighties... house and rave etc. And as I'm not an expert in that area I'll be choosing from the big chart hits. The top three for me have been mentioned already Back to life Ride on time Groove is in the heart.
Maude
Yes Hi NRG was more camp than a row of tents but this was an absolute floor filler in the 80s club we used to go to.

xgsjx
I'll join in on the classic 90's EDM. Love this one as it's written to be played by musicians & the bassline is a joy to play.
