three
I enjoyed this immensely - it all makes my buying, selling and general messing about appear very modest and reasonable. Some immensely, insanely beautiful instruments in that lot - I'd love to see those that didn't make it into the naked list!

Is that Leduc's signature floating top?? 19 hours ago, Hellzero said: Rybski 8 : Admittedly, I would have no practical use for this, but it is just SO BEAUTIFUL 🤣 19 hours ago, Hellzero said: Yamaha TRB JP II : This one has a good old soft spot in my heart. I will always regret selling mine, and one day I'll buy one back (still unsure on whether to go for the Red finish this time...) - such a unique and finely crafted instrument. Your whole collection has been fantastic! Thanks for sharing
Hellzero
6 hours ago, akabane said: Ok: I want to know more! This is wonderful! 😮 This was my special ordered EUB. It took Christophe LEDUC (and I at the delirious ideas) 7 years to finish it. It's therefore an L series. It will never leave me. If you understand French, here is the link to it (with my ugly face somewhere) : http://www.leduc.fr/index.php/series-l/basses-de-la-serie-l/164-l-09-la-u-contrebasse-moai If not, here are some informations about it : This EUB is based on the free floating top U-Basses. So, I needed an EUB at the time I ordered it for our duet. I went completely nuts and this U-Contreabasse, as my friend Christophe calls it, is the result of my madness. It's called Moaï because it reminded me of the legendary statues of the Easter Island. Now the fun part : the whole instrument is made out of one piece of very old Honduran mahogany (it just cleared Christophe stock 😁 ) with the floating top and harmonic bar directly crafted in it, which is a no mistake process... Then he added the two little wings to close the "body". The fingerboard is made of ebony with 6 EMG magnetic pickups (the same as the ones found on the NS Design EUB's) at the very dusty end of it, and integrated in the fingerboard. There are also 6 RMC piezo pickups in the French maple bridge and the main preamp is from Richard McClish too.The controls are simply volume and tone for the magnetics and the same for the piezos. These controls have been mounted through the output jack routing !!! It can be fitted with standard length double bass strings (this EUB has a standard 104 cm scale) through a clever system at the back (a bit like on the NS Design) or NS Design/D'addario strings. The top has a trade secret soundpost too. I can get very very very close to a double bass sound and really emulate it with a very little bit of preamp tweaking. And it's a real pleasure to play even with 6 strings tuned from an amp killer low B to a very high C. It has a complete two octaves (and even a bit more if you dare) fingerboard. 6 hours ago, akabane said: Gosh. Is that Leduc's signature floating top?? Yes, it is and a fretless sixer is also ordered.
3below
And the winner is? - not really serious, just so many great basses. I appreciate wood finish as well.
itu
Yes, it would be reasonable to hear some comments like sound and playability, as your collection is far more extensive than a single P in some corner of the house. (Nice floor, by the way.)
binky_bass
It's a close battle between you and me sir! One day I will gather all the pictures up of my basses past and present and post something similar, Basschat may buckle under the weight of so many photos though! 13 of those basses in your pictures I have owned or still own!
jazzyvee
Impressive set of basses to have owned. Over what period of time did you have these? and after all those what today is your goto bass?
Hellzero
Most of them are over a 5 years period... My goto bass at the moment is the JP Basses Lucii 6 fretless. Edited July 18, 2020 by Hellzero Blo*dy smartphone...
