Warwick Fortress Masterman 4 * SOLD PENDING PAYMENT* £900 Germany

Up for sale is this beautiful Warwick Fortress Masterman made in Germany in 1995. 

 

Specs are as follows:

 

• Solid two piece Flamed Maple Body in Honey Violin Finish
• Wenge Neck and Fingerboard
• Two MEC Jazz Bass Pick ups in MM Position
• Two individual EQs with Bass and Treble for each Pick Up
• Volume and Balance 
• Just a Nut Brass Version
• Warwick Bronce Frets

 

Due to the two pick ups with their own EQs this bass really has a lot of sounds to offer from Musicman to Jazz Bridge Pup and PBass Type Sounds and more. A terrific bass in great condition with super low action. It currently has Ying Yang Position Stickers placed precisely that help with orientation but those can be taken off without a problem of course.

These are seriously nice instruments imo - mine is exactly the same, minus the position stickers.

I've got one of each of the three basses in the Fortress series and I would never sell any of them.

If you're after a P-Bass sound à la James Jamerson, you can get it with the blend right in the middle (no need to dial in some EQ) and mute if you feel you need it. Should you need a MusicMan sound à la Joe Dart, just put a bit more bridge pickup in the blend mix as above and mute a bit. Do you want a Jaco tone, just go to the bridge pickup only, cut a bit the highs and boost the basses a bit, there it is. Need a more mellow tone for your walking bass, go to the neck only pickup with the same setting...

Certainly the most versatile bass I have ever played, too bad it only had 4 strings and was fretted.

Oof, that's a lovely bass. Had my eye on one of those years ago but ended up not having the cash. Out of interest, what is the nut width on this? Presumably 38mm?
