Fil1ip
What price should you be paying for a fender modern player series telecaster bass. I know they are China made? So does that lower the value? Thank you Phil
Dad3353
These were not high-value basses to start with. Apparently they got good enough reviews, but neither are directly comparable to the 'standard' p-bass or j-bass from the same stable. Nothing wrong with 'em; they are just different instruments, with their own specifications. No idea as to pricing except to suggest that, if you want one, buy one; if you don't, don't. There's not much 'value' in the equation; it's just a bass.
funkydoug
I've got a modern player jazz from that era (the passive one) and I think it is absolutely great. I'd have no concerns about build quality or component quality with the MP series. As for price, you can search on ebay for something similar and check the option to include completed items. That shows you what stuff sold for, and goes back long enough catch something relevant (probably). That's a useful clue as to what then realistic value is.
KevB
I've got one, think it was about £300 second hand but in perfect condition, gigged it a couple of times in a trio where we include some blues rock stuff eg ZZ Top. No nonsense bass.
