Baloney Balderdash
This thread is for sharing pictures and eventual stories of/about your Ibanez basses. Anyway, here's my 2 Mikros : First my old battered, but trusty and beloved, main, 4 string Ibanez GSRM20 Mikro Bass, out of the December 2010 production, with a mahogany body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, and currently with just a DiMarzio Model P, P pickup, installed, wired directly to the output jack socket, though the J pickup from the previously installed EMG Geezer Butler P/J pickup set still sits there, but disconnected and lowered considerably : And then my much newer 5 string Ibanez GSRM25 Mikro Bass, out of the January 2019 production, with a poplar body, maple neck, jatoba fretboard, and it's 2 stock J pickups wired in series, though I really need to have them replaced for something better sounding at some point : Both, beside a right out horrifying bad setup, came as good as perfect from factory, practically perfectly leveled and polished frets, and no other flaws whatsoever seemingly. And the 4 string even got what I think might be the most stable neck I ever had on any bass or guitar I have owned, despite a few of those being 1000$+ instruments, holds tuning extremely well, and I almost never have to adjust the truss rod. That one is also one of my absolute favorite basses, if not the single most favorite bass, I ever owned, such a pleasure to play on, and after I swapped the stock pickups with some quality ones it also sounds absolutely great. Edited January 8, 2022 by Baloney Balderdash Not entirely sure exactly what I was thinking when I wrote the original OP, honestly when I looked at it just now it seemed rather distasteful, so I deleted the screwed up parts and rewrote the intro

Looks great! Transplanted the outstanding neck the of the 2010 production GSRM20 Mikro Bass in my OP to a 2017 production GSRM20B body in Weathered Black finish I had lying around, from a Mikro Bass I bought that had horrible fretwork, unlike the GSRM20 Mikro neck. Also pulled out the DiMarzio P again and re-installed the EMG Geezer Butler P, also wired directly to the output jack socket, which I relocated to the front, on one of the redundant pot holes. This is the result: I named mine "Dud Bottomfeeder", by the way. Stuey3D
So mine are configured as follows: Both have: Gotoh GB707 Tuning Machines Gotoh 203B4 Bridges EMG GZR P Precision Pickups Jim Dunlop Straplocks Fender Thumbrests Dannii has: Jim Dunlop Flatwounds 65/85/105/125 tuned BEAD Stock Ibanez Jazz pickup Bluetone Custom solderless wiring Les Paul style speed knobs Kylie has: D’addario ECB81S chromes 40/60/80/100 tuned EADG EMG GZR Jazz Pickup Full EMG solderless wiring Witch hat style knobs (only numbered knobs that fit EMG solid pots) Dannii was my original Mikro and I was obsessing over her upgrades striving for perfection and got her nearly complete just the final truss rod adjustment needed for the Labella Jamerson flats (suspension bridge cables) and CRACK! Truss rod snaps. Got Kylie next day delivery from Andertons and transferred all the upgrades to her, but rather than risk the Jamersons again I switched back to the Chromes which I had used previously. Luckily stumbled upon a 5 month old classified on here from @HazBeen for a brand new Mikro neck and amazingly he still had it, so I used that to get Dannii up and running again. I love my girls, they are so comfortable to play for a noob like me. Edited December 8, 2021 by Stuey3D

Stuey3D
I also have a GSR180 which I guess makes me a 3 Ibanez dude, however apart from strings she is stock so once you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all. The sisters I’m quite proud of because they are my learning journey, I am really pleased with how the upgrades have turned out even if there were a few mishaps along the way and the sisters have a few scars to show my learning experiences too. The sisters are truly mine and I know there is unlikely to be another out there exactly the same as mine and I like that thought. 8 minutes ago, Mottlefeeder said:

I really did try my best to find it, before giving up and deciding to make one myself. At least I actually remembered to utilize the keyword function. *cough* (even if I missed adding "owner" in that one too) Edited December 8, 2021 by Baloney Balderdash

Stuey3D
The thing I like the most about the sisters is that from a distance they look like pretty stock Ibanez Mikro’s it’s only when you get up close and personal with them you realise that they aren’t your garden variety Mikro and that they are heavily modded. I’ve always been a fan of the sleeper build such as a really fast car that looks like your run of the mill family hatchback, or a hardcore gaming PC that would look at home in an office or something. For me the sisters are my sleeper builds. Some people prefer the full custom job like the OP others like me prefer the sleeper style custom job. That being said if I was more artistic I may be more inclined to go mad. The nerd in me would really love a black bass with the battle of Sector 001 from Star Trek: First Contact painted on it, specifically the USS Defiant heavily damaged staring down a Borg Cube. lidl e
Now we're talking! To me, a top 3 brand. Some of the all time greats. When i was a semi serious collector i had an ibanez collection within the bigger herd. Im only down to three now and one is with a friend in LA. My SDGR1500 rhat i put a kahler whammy on. I currently have these two here in Dublin A 1972 2615B and a 1984 Musician Bean Heres a pic of some of my ones i sold. You see the ibanez explorer im holding, thats an 86 ibanez artcore hollow body hanging on the wall, and behind me you can see poling out my ICB500 iceman bass. That is the cooledt bass i ha e owned and im sad it got away.
