Tonepump w/single pup?

Hopefully have a tonepump for my fretless somepoint over the weekend, just thinking about wiring.

It's a single (status) musicman pup, and after having a look at my Euro LX circuit it looks like it won't be a problem.

To my (simple) mind:

With a two pup setup it looks like it goes neck pup - volume - tonepump and bridge pup - volume - tonepump

So I should be able to go pup - volume - tonepump and just leave out the second volume control...

Shouldn't I? :)

Okay, so tone pump has arrived (cheers voxpop!) and before I solder I've 'mocked up' the circuit by twisting wires together.

Was getting output but the pots were having no effect so have I connected something in a way to bypass the pots?

I had red pickup wire - red wire on battery clip (connected to tone pump)

Bare pickup wire - ground on volume pot (ground then goes to tone pump)

Black wire on battery clip - sleeve on output jack

Earth from tone pot - ring or tip (can't remember now) on output jack

And only unconnected output from tonepump - ring or tip on output jack

I've got a picture and will post later, forgot to upload to photo bucket last night.

Cheers!

In a normal circuit, you just solder the pickup signal wire to the appropriate tang on the volume pot and make sure the earth is soldered to the casing or another earth lead (depending on the pickups). Not sure how the EMG battery wiring might make things more complicated though. It depends on how the tone pump has been removed and even then its going to be tricky to talk someone through that on a forum without the instrument in plain view.

No worries, I've emailed spector to see if they can help. If not I know a couple of people who could probably do it easy, but I've been trying to do this all myself (strip, paint, fit new neck - move bridge - and new electronics) and now it feels like I've fallen at the last hurdle!

I'm sure it's a simple mistake on my part I'm gonna undo what I've done and start again I think :)

Still, I can finally finish off my pedalboard tonight after buying a metre of velco just now!

All sorted now mate! Thanks

I'd connected my pickup's output to the EMG battery connection on the battery clip, moved it to the volume pot and it was fine.

Just a bit of routing to do tonight :)
