DanEly
I'm on a mission to find out the date and origin of the below precision. I've been told it's a mid-late 70's the was originally fretless and has since been converted - no dots on the face of the fretboard. It's definitely been re-finished. The neck pocket is white. Is it a bitsa? if anyone can help shed some light that would be amazing! Hellzero
1977 from the headstock decal, but could be from 1978 too. Better check the pots and decipher their code number. By the way HEIC is not a good forum photo format, better use JPG... Edited July 29, 2020 by Hellzero Missing word

The only original pot has 1377- 12 stamped on it. the other one has been replaced. Apparently that either '47 or '57...

Hellzero
Tone pot says 1977. And the capacitor is the original one, which is a rare fact. Have you other photos in JPG of the bass itself and of the rear of the pickups ? Edited July 29, 2020 by Hellzero

karlfer
John Torres was a legendary neck maker with known work certainly in the 70's & 80's
Steve Browning
If it was a fretless then the side markers will be where the frets are. Sounds likely, given the absence of the dot inlays.
