andyonbass Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 (edited) The Bass is now in sunny stormy Swindon awaiting the next leg! As stated above, it's a splendid instrument! Edited August 12, 2020 by andyonbass 1 Quote
Jono Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Love seeing all the pics of the bass on its travels. It does look lovely in the flesh and sounds really ‘big’ too with the maple through neck... 1 Quote

Chatting with a mate about a one off gig we might throw together, first thing he said was 'can I use my BC Rich?' I was able to say, 'you better had after all I will be using mine' Quote
Geek99 Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 @stewblack And is it ... is it ... any good for metal ? 1 Quote

stewblack Posted August 13, 2020 Author Posted August 13, 2020 The end is nigh. Two more handovers (handsover?) the second one of which will be @BreadBin to me. What a great advert for the fine folk hereabouts. I might not wait as long the next time UPS delivers a bass but neither will I have anywhere near as much fun. Glad to have helped facilitate some Basschatters meeting up and finding common ground on more than just music. And just so so grateful to everyone who has taken part. NBD approaches. 6 Quote
andyonbass Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 Another handover complete! The bass is now with @BreadBin and will be winging its way to the final destination very soon! Nice to meet you Brendan! Obligatory handover pic!! 7 1 Quote
BreadBin Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 It's currently here with me at my missus' place in Fairford. I'm back in the west tomorrow so should be with @stewblack before the weekend is out. That being said - it's really lovely, I'm kind of hoping he doesn't like it! 1 1 Quote
oldslapper Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 Young @BreadBin letting go of a bass...now that’s worth a photo 😂 That BC kinda suits you Brendon. 😊 2 Quote

oldslapper Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 It’s ok Stew, couldn’t think of a better fella to see your bass over the last line. Have to say it’s been great seeing the relay develop. 😎 Quote

I saw @Frank Blank today, very briefly, very socially distant, but it was lovely to put a face to the name. Basschatters become more real, more 3 dimensional once you've actually met them. So not only is this a bit of a giggle, it's also a great way to bring folk together. 5 Quote

stewblack Posted August 16, 2020 Author Posted August 16, 2020 Well folks, this is it. Young @BreadBin met me in a car park on the outskirts of Frome and I got my hands on that upon which many other hands have alighted. A thousand thanks to all those who took part, including those who I was unable to fit into the scheme, it was truly a remarkable effort. Not the farthest a bass has been delivered in this way, but I have my eye on one in Scotland so any record holders out there - beware! 7 2 Quote
Frank Blank Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 I bought a bass back from Scotland for @cetera, using the excuse to visit friends overnight. Where is the bass located? 1 Quote

Sure but is that country? Or is it western ? We have both kinds ... cf blues brothers in case anyone thinks it sounds familiar or (wrongly) that I’m being either clever or knowledgable 😏 Quote
