JohnDaBass
Yup, these add to an already extensive Sire Marcus Miller. The range seems to offer something for every bass player at price points to meet all pockets. I absolutely love the roasted hard rock maple necks & fretboards. The V5 passive appears to be a workhorse bass really appeals to me 😎

Marvin
Apparently it'll be available in Tobacco Sunburst as well. The neck looks great. I'd buy one...if I could justify it (I currently have no plans to return to bands etc)
BassApprentice
So it's a 3 month wait for a Burgundy V7 or do I go with a Natural V5. I've heard good things about things about the Active Preamp but the roasted neck is a big draw....hmmm
Dsaw69
Having had a v5 a few weeks, I can confirm it's a killer. Great array of vintage tones, not too heavy, looks awesome. Edited October 25, 2020 by Dsaw69
BassApprentice
Have you had a Sire before? Really struggling to choose between the V5 and the V7 Also - we need pics @Dsaw69😁 Edited October 25, 2020 by BassApprentice

I don't think you can go wrong with any, but I prefer passive basses, so went v5.
Kohpnyn
After one of these in fretless but can't seem to find them anywhere! Has anyone spotted any?

You may have to wait awhile for the fretless version to appear. I emailed Sire this week and they said there is a huge demand for the new V5 versions and a huge backlog of orders. I also contacted Thomann as I was interested in P5 4 string and they don't expect to have it in stock until August. However, Thomann are showing the fretted j-bass in stock within the next 2 - 5 days: https://www.thomann.de/gb/marcus_miller_v5_alder_4_nt.htm

However I like the simplicity of passive basses and the roasted maple neck looks amazing. I can't decide... I will find having a pre very useful but being shallow I just love the look of the V5..... I don’t want a pre and like the idea of a roasted neck but I prefer the looks of the black/ maple V7 vintage. Hopefully they’ll add more options next year
