The sellers dad passed away and he is selling off what was collected over the years. I am thinking of buying the 76 P he has in mint condition with original case but I’m not too sure if these are heavy, anyone here got any experience with that year

Looks like a nice bass. I would be abit careful though, if it has been without strings for a while. You never know what the neck has been doing.during that time.

This is a good point.

I’d never buy a bass sight-unseen from someone who isn’t a player themselves as they really don’t know what they have or are selling.

I pointed that out to him when I got the pic of it without strings, your quite right he is not a musician but seems to be getting advice from someone in the know

I would hope that person tells him to put some strings on that bass and increase the tension step by step.

Ive just messaged him to do that so hopefully the bass has not been lying around like that for too long

Thanks dodg that’s beautiful , I know lollipops were used into 68 but these look different to what I’ve seen

The lollipops ‘fitted from factory’ on the Bass Bros bass are the Mustang type - presumably smaller than the lollipops fitted to Precision or Jazz basses of the era?

@dodgnofski I’ve got serious bass envy after seeing that ‘68!

Much squatter!

I see this has been listed on reverb and eBay this morning, it certainly looks in amazing condition and says it’s never been used, not many like that around from 78, nice

I was chatting to his daughter last night about it, her dad Nick Bigginham who passed away earlier this year left his basses to her and she is in the process of selling them. He took great care of them and this one is very clean

It really does look as new. Still think that value wise she’s out by about a grand.
