spyder
Hi guys , I need your help and wisdom to ID this bass. It is being advertised as 1993 Made in Japan P Bass. Is it the real deal? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.....
AndyTravis
Looks legit. Wouldn’t fake that model - you’d fake an early 80’s JV if you were faking a squier. 1
spyder
Fantastic... Any idea what it's worth? I have no idea.
hooky_lowdown
Clear fake, I'm sure the original didn't have a Red Stripe sticker??? 😉 For value check sale prices on eBay. What's the seller asking, we can tell you if it's in the right ballpark. 😃 Edited August 7, 2020 by hooky_lowdown

Early 90’s Jap Squiers vary - but are on the up. £300-£450 depending on condition. About £350 is good money

hooky_lowdown
Personally I'd get a Squier classic vibe P bass, better bass all round imho, and I've owned a few 80s and 90s Squier's, as well as classic vibes. 😎

They’re consistent, but the hardware (machineheads) let them down. I’ve owned and played 80’s Jap Squiers - I’m still trying to buy one back (sold when going through a messy separation, not because I wanted to) and done set ups and restrings on a fair few of the 90’s ones. Great workhorse basses - bit more solid feeling than the CV’s. If the OP has spotted this one, it’s ticked his fancy and he gets it for a good price - I wouldn’t dissuade him or push him to something else. And that Red Stripe sticker adds value 😂😉 1
