spyder Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Hi guys , I need your help and wisdom to ID this bass. It is being advertised as 1993 Made in Japan P Bass. Is it the real deal? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance..... Quote
AndyTravis Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Looks legit. Wouldnât fake that model - youâd fake an early 80âs JV if you were faking a squier. 1 1 Quote
spyder Posted August 7, 2020 Author Posted August 7, 2020 Fantastic... Any idea what it's worth? I have no idea. Â Quote
hooky_lowdown Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 (edited) Clear fake, I'm sure the original didn't have a Red Stripe sticker??? đ For value check sale prices on eBay. What's the seller asking, we can tell you if it's in the right ballpark. đ Edited August 7, 2020 by hooky_lowdown 1 Quote

hooky_lowdown Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 Personally I'd get a Squier classic vibe P bass, better bass all round imho, and I've owned a few 80s and 90s Squier's, as well as classic vibes. đ Quote

Theyâre consistent, but the hardware (machineheads) let them down. Iâve owned and played 80âs Jap Squiers - Iâm still trying to buy one back (sold when going through a messy separation, not because I wanted to) and done set ups and restrings on a fair few of the 90âs ones. Great workhorse basses - bit more solid feeling than the CVâs.  If the OP has spotted this one, itâs ticked his fancy and he gets it for a good price - I wouldnât dissuade him or push him to something else.  And that Red Stripe sticker adds value đđ   1 1 Quote
