What's your fantasy Lotto jackpot bass gear shopping list?

A quality double bass, with all the relevant accessories (bow, hard case, gigbag, stand). As I don’t play the lottery, this is unlikely, although there is always the premium bonds.

Easy! Ken Smith BSR 5 black tiger and Aguilar DB751 with DB810.

if I did win the lotto I’d also get a Ken Smith BT6 white tiger

After 5 years mine hasn’t changed and I’ve still not won 😂

If I had a bit lotto win I wouldn't buy any musical gear.

What I would do is buy a comfortable band transport and employ someone to drive it for us.

I'd also book us a couple of months in a top-class studio with Trevor Horn producing.

I completely agree, although the Wal order would still go in.

If money was no object I'd like to track down and buy Pete Way's Iconic 1976 Natural finish Bicentennial Thunderbird.

Does anyone else play this game when they're bored and fill a shopping cart on somewhere like Andertons (other retailers are available), imagining what they'd buy after a lotto win? No? ..........yeah, I don't do it either.

One of the first in the basket is always the Tony Franklin fretless

First port of call would be driving up to Bass Direct to get a D-Roc and a Spector Dimension. Maybe a Cort Space 5. While I'm there I may as well get a Canadian Dingwall ordered.

Could also do with a Rickenbacker, a bass VI of some sort, an Alpher or two, a Stingray 5, a Gibson RD, and nice examples of a P and J.

I'd also buy a rehersal space. Somewhere to keep the inevitable amp/cab collection where I can play them at volume. There'd be an SVT and an AD200B at the very least. A full compliment of Zilla cabs too. Add a 1x12, a offset vertical 4x12 and an 8x10.

There'd be some pedal experimentation for sure too, probably with a MIDI loop switcher.

I also very much like @BigRedX's vehicle and driver idea, which I would expand by adding roadies.

Very simple and low key, I'm sure you'd all agree 😅

Not fair, I can't play, Fender don't make an unlined fretless Jazz or Precision that's not a signature bass and Ernie Ball don't make an unlined Stingray that's not got an Ebony or Rosewood fretboard.

Ooooh, this is difficult.

Probably an Overwater Jazz V - blocks, ebony board, quilted maple or moon ebony top.

I'd go for two Barefaced 1x12"

Already have my Aggie 751, so would spend on a Fender CS Precision 4.

(It must be said, I would nab a CAR Roscoe Beck V if one were to become available, even before the above.)

An Aria Pro CTB series 5 string,

A USA made 80's BC Rich Wave PP bass with either a reverse headstock or the paddle type.

A larger Work space / Office to store my gear, with inbuilt recording facility.

As others have said - a decent splitter bus with driver.

an upgrade on my IEM and boards. Although I don't think there's too much I'd change about the boards tbh.

I think I'm pretty happy with the gear I have for my current needs. I think the biggest change would be that I'd be playing it in a remote farmhouse somewhere in southern Spain. 😂🤞

For the amount of money we’re contemplating here I suspect you could make either (or both!) happen whatever the catalogues say…

Euromillions jackpot is estimated at £180 Million tonight.

First thing I'd do is retire immediately!

Then I'd find a nice house on the east coast somewhere. I love the North Sea when it's angry. Not too big a house. 4 beds is plenty, especially as I will be buying the kids a house each on the West Coast... and the Mother In Law a nice place in Spain. Or maybe Bogota.

Then I'd order some more Sandberg Superlights to cover all the pickup options. Then I'd also pay them enough to redesign their 5 strings for a more Ray5 type neck and string spacing. I figure that if I paid for the tooling needed then they could easily make them for others too and maybe attract the ray playing crowd a bit more. Win/Win.

I'm not one to swap between basses at a gig - I try to pick a bass that will do the whole show, so I probably wouldn't go that mad on basses. But I do love effects and different amps.

Maybe an old B15, or an Acoustic360 - maybe even get a new one built to improve the pretty awful noise floor on the originals.

And I'd be needing a lot of envelope filters and compressors. I love those things. And weird noise making pedals too. I've never had one, but some of those Chase Bliss pedals look great fun.

I would get a Luis & Clarke Carbon Fibre double bass. Amazing things. Sounds just like wood ones but far less bothered by temperature changes.

I've never had a good acoustic guitar. I played a lovely Taylor in a shop and while it was too rich for my blood then I'd get one of them. Loved the neck shape and the bright tone.

And a good telecaster. Can't beat a good telecaster.
