Clarky Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Arrived today from Serek in Chicago. Lightweight (7.2 pounds), retro short scale bass with three tone settings (deep, 'regular' and fuzz). #2 of limited batch of 3. Lots of fun 24 Quote

barrycreed Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Fantastic looking machine. Well wear. 1 Quote
Happy Jack Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Let me know when you want to move it on, Clarky. 1 2 Quote
meterman Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 @Clarky That is stunning! Seriously beautiful bass in a great finish. It has a 'slightly-melted Mustang' vibe to it and the headstock is handsome as well. Love it! 👍 1 1 Quote
Sarlscharisma Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 Fantastic, I love retro. And to have the Serek quality standards too. Absolute bargain 1 Quote
Old Man Riva Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 What a fabulous bass - enjoy! I really like the synthy-ness of the ‘fuzz’ setting, if that makes sense..? 1 Quote
Sarlscharisma Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 Still impressed with your Serek? I’ve just put a deposit on a Lincoln. It’s gonna be a long wait till February. A big gamble on whether I will like it but I love the sound on Jake’s promo video and the looks are killer. Quote
Clarky Posted August 27, 2020 Author Posted August 27, 2020 Its a lovely bass although it feels quite 'new' still - my old '71 Mustang was much more 'comfy' and worn-in for want of a better phrase 1 Quote
Sarlscharisma Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 I know what you mean about old and familiar basses. Although the Lincoln is 34 scale my 76 Ric 3000 short scale is like putting on an old pair of slippers. 1 Quote

Sadly bedroom use only. My two bands are both 'on hold' for various reasons and not even rehearsing. Really enjoy playing it though, super slick, easy neck, very lightweight (just over 7 pounds) and usable range of sounds, despite volume knob only! 1 Quote
Sarlscharisma Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 Well, I've done it the time. This should be with me over the next few weeks. I sold my Ric 3000 so needed another short scale. https://www.serekbasses.com/basses/the-grand/ Quote
Clarky Posted December 1, 2020 Author Posted December 1, 2020 Congrats, my batch #1 bass is fabulous! Looks cool in faded black Quote

Sarlscharisma Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 Jake contacted me last night, it sounds like it might be a few weeks before delivery as they are struggling to get the Hipshot bridges. Quote

Sarlscharisma Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 I contacted him earlier in the week, and no bridges as yet. The wait is killing me. Quote

MacDaddy Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Wonder how the fuzz setting will sit in the mix? Could be very useful. Quote
