Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted August 12, 2020 Posted August 12, 2020 (edited) I'm tracking my parcel - it started in Nottuln yesterday, passed through Dusseldorf overnight, and arrived at Stanford Le Hope this afternoon so it is on track to be delivered to me tomorrow. I will post some details about my new acquisition once it has arrived. Edited September 2, 2020 by Jean-Luc Pickguard Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted August 13, 2020 Author Posted August 13, 2020 It is out for delivery, but could be several hours of waiting. It comes with nickel rounds but I have a set of flats waiting to go on it when it arrives Quote
sykilz Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 I live about a mile from Stanford le hope, cannot imagine where it's been sitting....???!!!!! Good lick hope all goes well👍 Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted August 13, 2020 Author Posted August 13, 2020 It left the local depot at 7pm this morning and since then the tracking page changed to "out for delivery today" and gives an estimated time of delivery as "before 9pm" so its been a long day and I'm hoping it will come within the next 90 mins. ezbass Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Heavy downpours and local flooding may have slowed things up a tad. Fingers crossed for an imminent delivery. Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted August 13, 2020 Author Posted August 13, 2020 past 9pm and its not here yet 🙁 1 Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted August 13, 2020 Author Posted August 13, 2020 Oh well I suppose tomorrow's another day. The tracking info on the UPS site is woefully inadequate and doesn't inspire confidence. Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted August 14, 2020 Author Posted August 14, 2020 No idea whether its coming today - the tracking doesn't give any useful information and suggests that either: it went back to the depot where it is sitting being ignored it sat on the truck overnight and is out for delivery today it has been lost or nicked I'll have wait in for another day today just in case it does come 1 Quote
Merton Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 (edited) Fingers crossed it arrives soon! Edited August 14, 2020 by Merton 1 Quote
BassApprentice Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 I've found that if something fails to be delivered for whatever reason on the first try the tracking systems go into meltdown and then suddenly it's out for delivery and arrives. It is a first world problem, but waiting on new toys is always annoying! 1 Quote
PaulThePlug Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 (edited) Similar meltdown when my Sons Star Wars Lego Set failed to arrive when expected... 'Kin annoying... and i feel your pain... IT SAID (expected...) BEFORE 9!- Bastards! Edited August 14, 2020 by PaulThePlug Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted August 14, 2020 Author Posted August 14, 2020 I have pretty much given up on receiving it today. I sent a message to the shop this morning to see if they could get any info from UPS - they said they'll get back to me when they get an answer, but I've heard nothing since then and the tracking page still gives no useful infomation. tomthebass Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 Just survived 9 days (yes 9 DAYS!!!) of no information from UPS for a NBD from Tennessee...finally arrived out of the blue yesterday and I haven't even seen it yet. Nailbiting! But there is hope... Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted August 14, 2020 Author Posted August 14, 2020 Just refreshed the UPS tracking page and there's an update! It now says the delivery is scheduled for Monday 'by end of day' - so any time from 7am until 9pm I suppose. I hope the box will be sitting somewhere safe over the weekend. 1 Quote
Krysbass Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 Here’s hoping🤞 I use UPS regularly in my work and they do seem to have been suffering regular problems since the rise of COVID-19. We’ve had numerous packages to customers arrive several days late and one package going from Liverpool to Blackburn (Lancashire) was routed via Stanford le Hope in Essex for some unexplained reason.🙄 1 Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted August 17, 2020 Author Posted August 17, 2020 Looks like I've had another day of pointlessly waiting in for a delivery - the tracking says: In Transit Scheduled delivery Monday 17/08/2020 but the shipment progress hasn't updated to "Out for delivery" today - its still on the "In Transit" status which was updated at 6pm on Friday. I messaged the shop this morning with my concerns that the tracking info was vague and contradictory, asking whether they could chase up UPS for info, but only got a reply telling me to let them know if it doesn't come today. I then tried to phone UPS, but after having a robochat and taking the option to speak to an agent I was told that option was not possible. So I've stayed in waiting just in case it comes, although it looks like today isn't going to be the day. Grrrrrrrrrrr! 1 Quote
Skybone Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 I do hope there's going to be pictures when it finally lands. 1 Quote

Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted August 17, 2020 Author Posted August 17, 2020 The tracking page has just updated and now says without any apology that it is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Do they really expect me to believe it this time? They managed to get it from Germany to the local depot with no problems last week, but I have no idea why they're finding it so difficult to finish the job by managing to take it the final twenty miles. All the time they have it I don't know what temperature/humidity it is stored at, how carefully it has been handled, or whether it has actually gone missing. Quote
tomthebass Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 I think in Germany UPS is pronounced "oops" Just saying 🙂 Fingers crossed it's for real this time! Quote
