Loved the tone, it fitted right in with the songs we tend to play. I could quite happily live this that one bass if it was comfortable. 1 Quote
Gareth Hughes Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 The new-ish Fender Player Precision’s are beautifully light - or at least the one I got is, but from what I’ve read they seem to be consistently light weight. 1 Quote

I don’t mind heavier, and i have much heavier, but its the carrying them where i find heavier is more of a pain. Too light and i feel i didnt get my money‘ S worth, too heavy and it feels cheap lol. Also agree it needs a bit of weight to hang correctly most of the time. I have this and it's great! Mine's red tinted. Quote

Deepfat Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 If you can find a US Fender Zone - They're pretty light and versatile. Here's a picture of mine. It's significantly lighter than my Stingray. Quote
Vanheusen77 Posted December 15, 2020 Posted December 15, 2020 There is quite a weight range on Fenders so look around for a light one. On a side note, my Sterling Sub Ray4 is very light and it seems most of the new ones are, so if you like that sound there is hope there as well. Also if balance is an issue light jazz basses balances a bit better than P’s due to the offset in my experience. 1 Quote

Apparently there was a problem with the active pick ups and pre-amp which resulted in Fender stopping production. Quote
walshy Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 (edited) My 1965 P bass weighs in at a colossal 3.55kg! Pretty damn light indeed and a bit of a looker too. Edited December 17, 2020 by walshy 4 Quote

I change the batteries about every other year and it gets played regularly. Never had an issue with it - maybe just lucky? Quote
TheGreek Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 To be fair, I didn't have any problems with mine (had it about 6 months), however there were lots of horror stories on the net about electronics failure so I decided to move mine on before it became an issue. 1 Quote
Grahambythesea Posted December 18, 2020 Posted December 18, 2020 The Sandberg California II TT4 at Bass Direct weighs in at a ridiculous 2.8kg. That’s lighter than most semis. Love the dark tint on the roasted maple neck too. Quote
