Woodwind Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 I have an EHX freeze pedal which I use a great deal. Love it.... Except for how loud the switch is! I use this with an acoustic instrument and the volume of each mechanical pedal click is almost unacceptable in the environments I play in. I'm about to do some critical recordings and need to quieten this pedal down. Has anyone replaced foot pedal switches with quieter versions? If so can you point me to what and where (I can use Google, I'm after real world experiences 😃) Cheers Thomas Quote
Woodwind Posted August 19, 2020 Author Posted August 19, 2020 Ok well it seems I can't use Google... To answer my own question: However I'm still interested in ideas and experiences from members here Quote

AJ567 Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 I had a pedal with a very loud mechanical true bypass switch, Martin Owen of Owen Electronics added some components and made it quiet as a mouse. Highly recommended. Alternatively, If you are into DIY then you can often replace mechanical bypass switches with a relay circuit fairly easily. TH Custom Effects sells a bunch of kits for this purpose. NB Lehle makes some nice switches to pair with your relay circuit, if going the DIY route. 1 Quote
Woodwind Posted August 22, 2020 Author Posted August 22, 2020 Just replaced the switch as per that video I posted. Very quick job and a massive reduction in acoustic noise. Why I tolerated this noisey click for 5 years is beyond me. Now I want to do the same on my loop pedal. 1 Quote
