Quilly Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 I had a burgera knock off SVT once , a BBV3000 I think it was . Great amp for peanuts, I only had it for a couple of months . Quote
VTypeV4 Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 A few years back, I had an Ashton BV300 and that was pretty good - I'd probably still have it if I'd not got my Trace back.. Review here: 1 Quote
Quilly Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 There’s a guy in Spain selling a George Dennis 120W amp for €599. Looks like a bit of a beast . Anyone know of these amps ? Quote

Quilly Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 (edited) Pure tone amps from Greece look amazing, he does a 120w bass head . it might be my imagination but I think bass tube amps are getting more and more popular, maybe it’s because people are using PA DIs more and don’t need as much power on stage, who knows ? , I can see Harley Benton bringing one out ... Reggaebass Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 I watched a review on the Handbox WB100 and It says it’s got an inbuilt fan , I don’t like fan noise, do most valve amps have them or just some 🙂 1 Quote
taunton-hobbit Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 I've got a Marshall 2x100 chassis which had a fan that thought it were a jumbo jet - a local tech threw it out and replaced it with three slow ones, prob solved - none of my Matamps has a fan, nor did my earlier Selmer Stereomaster, so I think it depends on cab size and ventilation? 😎 1 Quote
cattytown Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 From memory all the valve amps I have had have not had a fan. 1 Quote
crabman Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 I have a WB-100 and the fan isn't particularly noisy. That is from the perspective of band rehearsal or gigging rather than studio recording with a mic. There are silent computer fans out there , but I don't know if they'd be suitable replacements. 1 Quote
Reggaebass Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Thanks crabman, I’m glad I watched the video as I was just about to buy one, I believe it was @wateroftyne who did the great review Quote

knicknack Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 I thought I might throw my rig from a few nights ago into the ring, if only to remind us all that, despite the doom 'n' gloomers, rock and roll isn't quite dead yet! 2 Quote
maidens97 Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Got the CTM300 from @la bam today. Won’t have a chance to try it out until later tonight but can’t wait to! 6 Quote

The CTM100 doesn’t have one as it’s valves are spread out , the ctm300 does however 1 Quote
