Mickeyboro Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Got my small PA out yesterday for an occasional outing and found a problem with one of the cabs. One of the input jacks seemed to have sheared off (right hand, first pic) and the left hand one would not work. Any help as to what I need to replace the offending item and where I can get it would be much appreciated! Thanks... Quote
grandad Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 (edited) This might fit. https://www.rapidonline.com/Jalco-JS5077-Professional-Switched-Jack-Skt-20-1399?IncVat=1&pdg=aud-944136121904:pla-337278509230:kwd-337278509230:cmp-757438067:adg-44804851896:crv-207912323492:pid-20-1399:dev-c&gclid=Cj0KCQjwv7L6BRDxARIsAGj-34rLr8AOT3438n0xPkXmDOOy70eRsMUNC7wBSDKx2fGpc8qs6-gAISsaAiD0EALw_wcB Edit - NO. I don't think that will do because it's switched and I think that could short out the other skt and therefore the amp O/P. I can't find another with the same spaced solder lugs. grandad Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 (edited) I think you might need to scrap the PCB and wire up a couple of these in parallel. https://www.rapidonline.com/neutrik-ag-nmj2hf-s-mono-unswitched-jack-socket-20-0143 Edited August 31, 2020 by grandad Quote
Mickeyboro Posted August 31, 2020 Author Posted August 31, 2020 Unfortunately the link wont work for me... Thanks for the interest though!🙏 Quote
Chienmortbb Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 (edited) The Rapid one is only rated at 1 amp/12V. So it would not have been any good anyway. You can take out the contacts in some plugs. Can you get the PCB out? If so I will have a look if you can send it to me. I have just seen that you are on the wrong side of town. I will PM you. Edited August 31, 2020 by Chienmortbb Quote
agedhorse Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 There are many similar styles of jack but beware that there are different mounting heights and pin setbacks from the front edge of the PCB. Sometimes, the best solution is to get 2 identical jacks and replace both, at least that way the mounting height doesn't matter and as long as the mounting surface of jack extends slightly beyond the PCb everything should mount fine. Just don't damage the PCB. 1 Quote
