yorks5stringer
I used to be in a cover band that did 'Werewolves' and the singer, who was a bit intense, had mocked up a Chinese Restuarant menu from 'Lee Ho Fooks' and when he sang those part of the lyrics picked up the Menu. I expect it was however lost on the audience and until I asked him why he had a Chinese menu on his music stand, it had been lost to me too( cos I don't listen to lyrics but basslines)! Dunno, as I say, I don't listen to lyrics and sometimes am genuinely amazed what they are when I see them written out. Re Werewolves, apart from the Chinese Restuarant and the chorus, I haven't a scooby about what the song is about other than the title. Misdee
Back in the 1980's there actually was a Chinese restaurant on or around the Edgeware Road called Lee Ho Fooks, I seem to remember. Whether the name was a reference to WZ, I have no idea! Edited September 5, 2020 by Misdee

And my ellipsis are not, grammatically, absence of words or phrases, but rather either suspension points or, more commonly, just for clarity on the printed page. WZ added it to the song. You really wanted to know that, didn't you!! Also I always thought Ho Lee Fook was the one in the Kings Road, Chelsea, but I might have made that up!

I find sweet home a really boring song to play tbh, not because the bass line is so simple but because it's just too long. For pub gigs medleys help keep things interesting. Please tell my band members this so they can think it's their idea and then get it on our set list 😊
