Lake Placid blue

Has it changed?

Here's my 2020 Mustang and my 1992 jazz bass, both lake placid blue but also different colours, has time changed the bass or is the colour different now?

You need to check the Ford colour charts from the early 60's for a definitive answer

To my eye, the bass on the right is LPB

It's a screen thing. I posted that pic because on my screen it's so obvious that the bass on the right is the correct colour while the bass on the left is wildly different.

I remember nearly buying this , which looks like the one on the left because I questioned the colour and was told it was ice blue

I'd say the jazz is much closer to 60s lake placid blue and I  doubt that with poly finishes your basses would of changed colour that much, is it weird how much they vary and age differently though when you compare pics of pre cbs instruments

I wouldn't let it get to you, you'll get the guitar refinished to match, then prefer that version of LPB slightly to that of the bass, then get the bass refinished to match.

Then sell them both because you fancy a change to Burgundy Mist.....

Could the Mustang be Tidepool? Assuming it's a Mexican, it's one of the standard colours for basses in the Player series. Certainly looks very close to my Jazz in colour terms.

Yup, I posted a Cadillac to point out that it wasn't actually Ford colours that Leo used, it was DuPont colours and they were used across the industry AFAIK.
