Jeff29361 Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 Has it changed? Here's my 2020 Mustang and my 1992 jazz bass, both lake placid blue but also different colours, has time changed the bass or is the colour different now? Quote
Beedster Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 You need to check the Ford colour charts from the early 60's for a definitive answer To my eye, the bass on the right is LPB Quote

I posted that pic because on my screen it's so obvious that the bass on the right is the correct colour while the bass on the left is wildly different. 3 Quote
Reggaebass Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 I remember nearly buying this , which looks like the one on the left because I questioned the colour and was told it was ice blue 1 Quote

MacDaddy Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 Is this like that dress thing, and the bass is really yellow or something? 3 3 Quote
Reggaebass Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 I’d like a bass the same colour as the slippers actually 🙂 1 Quote
spencer.b Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 I'd say the jazz is much closer to 60s lake placid blue and I doubt that with poly finishes your basses would of changed colour that much, is it weird how much they vary and age differently though when you compare pics of pre cbs instruments Quote

AndyTravis Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 that mustang looks more like Ice Blue - like my Miller. 4 Quote
Jeff29361 Posted September 6, 2020 Author Posted September 6, 2020 For better contrast, both sold as LPB Quote

Jeff29361 Posted September 6, 2020 Author Posted September 6, 2020 I'm not too upset as it is a fantastic guitar just thought it would match my bass Quote
rubis Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 Both lovely colours, I'm very partial to Ice Blue at the minute Quote

Then sell them both because you fancy a change to Burgundy Mist..... 1 1 Quote
Reggaebass Posted September 6, 2020 Posted September 6, 2020 I’d say that the left one is ice blue Quote

invertigo Posted September 7, 2020 Posted September 7, 2020 (edited) Could the Mustang be Tidepool? Assuming it's a Mexican, it's one of the standard colours for basses in the Player series. Certainly looks very close to my Jazz in colour terms. Edited September 7, 2020 by invertigo Quote
